JAPANESE TRADiTiONAL COSTUMEz

*--->A very special outfit is worn by the traditional Japanese people which is know to be the Kimono. The kimno is the traditional dress that's worn nowadays on formal occasions.

*--->It is sometimes accused of being an impractical or useless form of dress, although it has it's advantages of giving the person who wears this traditional outfit a graceful and elegant deportment as some people say. In other words the look shows a sign of respect for the culture, including a sense of an obidiant look on the outside.

*--->A long under gament or a robe like outfit which is called the nagajuban is worn underneath the kimno and on top of their normal clothes that are worn. Right above is what it looks like

*---> The obiage supports the obi.
*---> The obi is a sash for the kimono.
*---> The obijime holds the obi in position.
*---> The baggy sleeves are called the Tamato.

*ONE FACT IS THAT THE MATERIAL BEING WORN IS SILK AND CAN BE DYED VARIOUS COLORS AND PATTERNS.

*---> Furisode is the formal kimono with long baggy sleeves worn by UNMARRIED women. Married women wear the normal-sleeved tomesode.

FACTz:

Obama’s Educational Plan

President Barrack Obama is one of the most amazing men on earth. He has come very far in his life. From my understanding, Obama wants the best for every single living American whether they’re poor or rich. I also know that as a full-time student, I’m encouraged by his changes for our education system starting with preschool children to adult college students. I would like to point out two of the drastic downfalls of the American educational system. First Obama has stated and recognized that the United States has the highest dropout rate of high school students. Second he states that half of the college students enroll and start college but, don’t finish and dropout. This is a defendant call for help! On the other hand Barrack Obama has made some Accomplishments for the educational system by trying to expand the charter schools. He reaches out to the parents of the United States with words of advice, telling parents that, “education must start at home”. Barrack Obama says that all children deserve competitive education, and he also claims that dropping out of school is NOT an option anymore! Barrack has prevented some teacher layoffs and plans to do way more than that for teachers such as rewarding them. Now, as the man that everyone looks to for help, he constantly and consistently works hard. Barrack is now trying and will make college affordable for every single high school student entering college. He says that he will lower the cost of education, and raise the pay checks of teachers. He plans to expand the education of early childhood helping the young ones strive to learn and start an early dream for their future. He also wants every single American to go back to college for another year. No matter what their age is he wants Americans to expand their education again. Barrack Obama claims that in 2012 he will cut the debt, because he does NOT want to pass debt to the American children. With all that’s said I do believe that Barrack will make the changes, and fix every little problem that has affected the education system for kids. I also believe that his word will come to life and American families or just an American alone will find satisfaction in his work, and not just off what he said.

LANCELETS[biOLOGy]

Lancelets are small non vertebrate chordates that often live with their bodies half buried in sand. Because lancelets do not have fins or legs, they can move only by contracting the paired muscles on their bodies.

*What do these Lancelets fish form?

Lancelets are smaller fishlike creatures who form what is called subphlyum cephalochordata, sometimes known as amphioxous. This is a group of primitive chordates. They can be found in shallow parts of temperate or tropic seas.

  1. brain-like blister
  2. notochord
  3. dorsal nerve cord
  4. post-anal tail
  5. anus
  6. food canal
  7. circulatory system
  8. atriopore
  9. overpharynx lacuna
  10. gill slit
  11. pharynx
  12. vestibule
  13. oral cirri
  14. mouth opening
  15. gonads (ovary/testicle)
  16. light sensor
  17. nerves
  18. metapleural fold
  19. hepatic caecum (liver-like sack)
*What do they eat & how is it digestive to their system?

Unlike an adult tunicate, an adult has lancelet has a definite head region that contains a mouth. The mouth can open into a long pharynx, which is a sticky mucus that catches food particles. The lancelet that swallows that mucus into their digestive tract or system.

*Do they have a gass exchange?

Yes! Lancelets use their pharynx for gass exchange. Although from many research, it's been found that lancelets are thin enough to exchange gases through thier body surfaces. They also have a close circulatory system. They don't have a true heart. Instead, the walls of the major blood vessels contract to push blood through the body.

*How do they motion?

The fishlike motion of lancelets results fromcontracting muscles that are organized into V-shaped units. The muscle units are paired on either side of the body.

*What are their characteristics?

Chordates have a number of characteristics in common, which for most are only present during embryonic development which are the following:

*Notochord is found in all chordate embryos
*A hollow dorasl nerve cord
*Pharyngeal slits
*Postanal tail

*How do they reproduce?

Among the chordate subphyla there are differences in their reproduction. In Urochordata they reproduce asexually. The Cephalochordata and vertebrates reproduce sexually.

THE SANFRANCISCO BRIDGE

*This is the bridge that my group and I had made. First I had sketched the bridge on a graph sheet of paper, and my teacher Connie gave us a card bord which our bridge, which was to be built on it the cardbord. Their were also rules of the game and these were the rules...

*a bride that had to be 5 inches off the card bord

*a bridge that had to be 7 inches tall

*you can't use more than 200 sticks

*no more than enough glue neeeded to be used

*Last but not least you can run for the best looking bridge or the strongest brigde. So we ran for the best looking brigde, and even though we didn't win we still got the credit for this project.
